Nazarene Mission Teams

Started in 1974, Nazarene Missions Teams is a grassroots-born ministry in which self-funded teams of as few as two people travel to a site to help with construction, medical, technical, and evangelistic needs for up to 21 days. These mission teams are not only an opportunity for a team to accomplish something together in partnership with believers in another part of the country or world, but it’s also a time to develop cross-cultural relationships, which, many times, last well beyond the short duration of the trip. Teams and local host churches can learn from one another, worship and pray together, and share God’s love with each other and the surrounding community. Nazarene Missions Teams is unique in the denomination as a movement that began among lay people rather than being planned and developed from general church leaders. Local churches sought to do more than just pray and give; they wanted to go.
