Prayer

Prayer Guide

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6

Prayer is a sacred invitation into God’s presence—a place where our hearts are stilled, our burdens are lifted, and our lives are aligned with His will. Yet often we need gentle reminders to guide our prayers and help us see where God is at work in the world around us. These prayer prompts are meant to draw you deeper into communion with Him, shaping your prayers to reflect His heart of love, hope, and compassion. As you pause to pray, may you discover the joy of resting in His presence and joining with others in lifting up the needs of our church, community, and world.

We join our hearts and voices to offer our prayers to God.

In preparation for prayer, take a notebook and write down the people and things you would like to pray for as the Lord brings them to your mind.  These questions may help you:

  • What divine actions or attributes of God can we praise him for?
  • What blessings can we thank God for?
  • What insights and biblical teaching shall we thank God for?
  • For what ministries will we pray for?
  • What aspects of congregational life shall we pray about?
  • For which other congregations shall we pray for?
  • What concerns in our community, province, country, world shall we pray about?
  • What personal concerns shall we bring to God?
  • For which voiceless & powerless persons shall we pray?

Father God, we praise you as the one who is . . .

abundant in truth; almighty; beautiful; everlasting; ever present; faithful; good; gracious; holy; incomprehensible; infinite; invisible; just; living; long-suffering; loving; perfect; wise
